The congregation of Immaculate Conception Church includes the prison population of Edna Mahan Facility for Women, where all New Jersey females sentenced to serving more than one year are incarcerated and Mountainview Youth Correctional Facility. A parish ministry serves the women. Weekly Communion services are held for prisoners in both minimum and maximum security during the weekday and a monthly Mass is offered by either Fr. Keith or Fr. Sean Winters (Diocesan Prison Ministry). . Bible Study and an RCIA program are offered to both populations periodically both at night and during the day via Sr. Kathleen Rooney, SSJ, a Catholic Chaplain and coordinator of Catholic Services at those facilities and the Diocesan Prison Ministry. Finally, impoverished women ending their sentence have available emergency clothing, food and transportation to their homes.
Those interested to ministering to the imprisoned should talk to Fr. Keith.
